There’s nothing I love more on a dreary and cold day than a delicious hot chocolate, a decadent treat for the whole family! So ditch the diet and try one of these simple recipes!
Salted Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate
What you will need:
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 250ml milk
- 3 tbsp of smooth peanut butter
- 60ml of water (or less to taste)
- pinch of sea salt (do not miss this bit, it makes it extra yummy!)
- Whipped or ‘squirty’ cream
How to make:
Warm the milk in a pan. Keep stirring whilst adding the peanut butter and cocoa powder. Add water to taste depending on how thick you want the mixture. Empty into a cup, dollop or squirt on the cream then sprinkle on the sea salt. Mmmmm!
White Hot Chocolate
What you will need:
- 250ml milk
- 16 heaped tbsp of white chocolate chips
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Whipped or ‘squirty’ cream
How to make:
Heat the milk in a pan and add the white chocolate until melted. Add the vanilla extract. Pop in a cup, squirt on the cream and BINGO! Yummy white hot chocolate (I add a dash of rum for the adults to make it the ultimate white hot choc!).
Nutella Hot Chocolate
What you will need:
- Hot chocolate powder
- 250ml milk
- 2-3 tsp of nutella
How to make:
An easy peasy recipe. Heat your favourite hot chocolate powder with the milk. Add the nutella, stir until smooth and serve! Even better with cream and marshmallows of course!!
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
What you will need:
- 250ml milk
- 16 heaped tbsp of white chocolate chips
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- Whipped or ‘squirty’ cream
How to make:
Heat the milk in a pan and add the white chocolate until melted. Add the Peppermint extract, pour in a cup and squirt on the cream. A minty delight!
Gingerbread Hot Chocolate
What you will need:
- 250 ml milk
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder (or to taste)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
How to make:
Warm the milk and stir in all ingredients. Pour into a cup and serve with a gingerbread man!
Cadbury’s Crunchie Hot Chocolate
What you will need:
- 1 Cadburys Crunchie bar (crushed)
- 250ml milk
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
How to make:
Warm the milk in a pan and stir in the cocoa powder. Pour into a cup then sprinkle in the crushed crunchie bar. The chocolate melts into the mixture and the honeycomb adds a delicious ‘crunch’ to this drink.
