Celebrating special events with your children is one of the zillions of things that makes having them so great! Easter time is no exception, spring is in the air, Easter Egg Hunts, family get togethers….fab! However, Easter is one of the most ‘sugary’ events in the calendar and if your children are like mine, once they get that sweet taste it takes them a while to stop asking for it so here’s some fab healthy Easter themed snacks to balance out the chocolate overload.
1) Hummus and mini carrots!… Don’t forget to wash out the plant pots!
2) Cute rabbit shaped sandwich! Buy the sandwich cutter here!
3) Carrot shaped toast with cheese, carrot and broccoli
4) Rice cakes topped with sweetcorn, olives and peppers. Don’t forget the raspberry hats and carrot feet!
5) Strawberry carrots! Dip strawberries in melted white chocolate mixed with orange food colouring (Use Sugarflair which has no additives or E numbers). OK this one does have a little bit of sugar, but the strawberries are healthy!
6) Cute boiled egg chicks for breakfast! Use sesame seeds for the eyes and carrot for the beaks!
