Museum of Transport, Manchester: 28th June, FREE
This fascinating museum is offering free rides on its heritage buses for the day transporting visitors from the local area to and from the museum! At the museum itself you will see an amazing collection of restored trams, buses and coaches that once graced the streets of Manchester. Check the website for details on departure times.
‘Tankfest’ at the Tank Museum, Dorset: 27-28 June, 10:00 – 17:00, Adult £20.50, Child £13.00
This promises to be an explosive weekend packed with exciting entertainment for an action packed two days dedicated to the history of tanks. There will be guest tanks and some old favourites too and for the first time a 38t built by the Czechs will be making an appearance! There will be lots of music from swing bands, singing groups and The Singing Spiv! Dan Snow the broadcaster and historian will be making a special appearance. Be sure not to miss the Douglas C-47 Dakota and Spitfire as they take to the skies over Tankfest on both days!

This promises to be an action packed day crammed with fabulous entertainment for all the family. There will be fantastic musical acts, comedy and street food. Top of the bill are the brilliant boy band Union J and BGT winners Collabro! Little ones will love seeing CBeebies favourite presenter Justin Fletcher and Sam and Mark will be making everyone laugh with their ‘On the Road Show’ packed with jokes, sketches and prizes. Kids can have photos taken with some much loved characters from Bart Simpson to Peppa Pig and for the older kids rising YouTube stars will take to the stage. Kids will love being amazed by the Magician and the chance to hold an owl or take part in a good old fashioned tug of war. Ancient country skills will be demonstrated and plenty of other crafts and side shows making this a very enjoyable day out.
Fire Engine Rally at Lullingstone Castle, Eynsford, Kent: 27-28 June, 11:00-17:00, Adults £8, Child £4
Set in the beautiful Kent countryside this castle dates back to the time of the Domesday and this weekend it is home to an exciting fire engine rally with over 20 engines and carts dating back to Victorian and Edwardian times. There will be spectacular live fire displays showing how to put out all kinds of fires and kids can be hands-on and learn how to squirt the hoses! 50% of ticket sales go to the worthy Firefighters charity.
Monski Mouse Baby Disco Dance Hall at the Southbank Centre, London: various Sundays until 27 September, (From £7.40), for kids aged 0-5
Bring the little kids along for a fantastic disco dancing session hosted by the one and only Monski Mouse! Grown-ups get to join in too for a fun time that includes lots of dancing and play to a mix of brilliant songs and nursery rhymes.

Bring the family along and join in with a free weekend of celebration and remembrance of Britain’s armed forces past and present. Let the kids try their hand at being palaeontologists and archaeologists finding out what they hunt for and what tools they need to use. This great drop-in event is free and lets the kids dig seeing if they can discover ancient artefacts.
