This week there are so many exciting new exhibitions and events for families to enjoy. Disappear down the rabbit’s hole at Ripley’s London, walk among dinosaurs at Longleat Safari & Adventure Park or enjoy a day at the beach… in London!

The Wonderland Gallery at Ripleys Believe It Or Not, London; 10am – 12am  BOOK HERE AND GET TWO TICKETS FOR £29

Ripley’s are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Alice in Wonderland story with an entertaining pop up gallery this summer. Tumble down a rabbit hole and see yourself very big or very small just like Alice! There are plenty of other Alice themed adventures too, plus the rest of weird and wonderful exhibits Ripley’s has to offer!

Beach East at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London; 11th July – 31st August, 10am-10pm, Free, all ages

Spend a day on the beach in London! Sounds weird, but this summer you can! Beach East has been created at the Olympic Park offering families the chance to bask in the sunshine building sandcastles. There will be plenty of live performances, competitions, fun fair rides and other events so check out the website to see what is going on!

Family Activities at the Thinktank Museum, Birmingham; 18th -19th July, 11am-4pm, Adult £12.75, Child £8.90

This weekend pop along to this museum for some fun and interactive drop-in sessions where kids can listen to brilliant stories, handle fascinating objects and learn all about them. There will be exciting art activities on offer too where kids can make something creative to take home.

The Stainsby Festival,  Stainsby, Derbyshire, 17th-19th July, Adult £65, Child £30 (weekend ticket)

This lovely family folk festival takes place in a beautiful setting in the Derbyshire countryside. It offers great folk and world music, lots of craft stalls and music workshops. For the kids there is plenty of entertainment on offer, storytelling and a singers competition. Join in with a firelight session in the evening as the sun goes down. There are camping facilities too if you fancy staying over for the whole event.

Free Swim Safe Session at Brockhole, Windermere; 18th July -7th August, Free, ages 7-14

This summer when kids like to spend their time in the water  it’s good to know they are safe and by taking part in free beach and water safety lessons they will learn the skills provided by the RNLI that they should  have to swim in open water which is quite different to an indoor pool. Look out for other locations around the country that are offering this session during the summer!

Acrobatics and Dinosaurs, Longleat Safari & Adventure Park, Wiltshire; All Summer,  Book with Days Out With Kids to save 20%

This summer there’s a dazzling acrobatic show that the family can go watch at Longleat. A team of Chinese acrobats will perform dramatic and gravity-defying acrobatic routines in the purpose-built undercover arena. There’s also ‘Dinosaurs Alive’ where you can walk amongst some giants who have come to live. Budding palaeontologists will enjoy the dinosaur discovery zone where they can test their skills. There’s all this happening along with all the other amazing attractions on offer at Longleat.

Bristol Harbour Festival; 17th, 18th and 19th July, Free

A fantastic and free festival Bristol Harbour festival is spread out around the harbour side area. There’s going to be circus acts, dance performers, arts, boats and much more for the family to enjoy. There’s even a children’s area where there will be a small village, tiny gardens and lots of activities.

Larmer Tree Festival, Wiltshire; 15th – 19th July, All ages, starting from Adult £174, Youth £113 & Child £63

This year Larmer Tree festival is celebrating its 25th birthday and there’s going to be entertainment for all the family including Sir Tom Jones who will be opening the festival on the Wednesday night! There’s a ‘Youth Zone’ for older children and for children under 11, there’s a ‘Children’s Area’ with a huge range of exciting activities and workshops. There’s even baby yoga and music sessions for the under 5’s.

Fleetwood Festival of Transport; Lancashire, 19th July, Free

This is the UK’s largest free transport event! There’s going to be over 250 different vehicles on display including steam trucks, fire engines and vintage cars. There will be vintage tram rides, fairground rides and a range of family entertainment for you to enjoy.

Bute Fest, The Isle Of Bute; 17th – 19th July, Adult £65, Child £30, Family (2+2) £165 

This affordable and fun festival has entertainment for all the family. There’s going to be a science show full of comedy and learning, a Story Emporium with music and storytelling and entertainers wandering around the site. Music wise there’s an eclectic mix of music from the peatbog fairies, Stanley, Federation of the Disco Pimp, Skerryvore and many more! Just 1.5 hours from Glasgow with a quick trip on a ferry.

Project Wild Thing, Felin Puleston Countryside Centre, Erddig, Wales; 18th July, 11am- 2pm, Free

There’s going to be a day of outdoor fun on the Erddig estate to launch their summer activity programme. You can enjoy the summer bug club, try your hands at some crafts and even watch a film. See how many of the National Trusts 50 things to do before you’re 11¾. Booking Required.
