Who doesn’t love a surprise on Valentine’s Day? This lovely card features scratch away love hearts to reveal a message underneath and is surprisingly easy to make using items you have around the home!
What you’ll need:
Acrylic paint in red and green
Washing up liquid
Coloured card of your choice
A paintbrush
A white wax crayon
Additional optional decorations e.g. bows, glitter, etc
To make:
First, fold your coloured card in half.
Mix your washing up liquid and red acrylic paint, using 2 tbsp of the liquid and 1 tbsp of acrylic.
Then, paint your desired image using your paints. I’ve gone for a bouquet of “rose” hearts using the red acrylic and washing up liquid mixture to keep with traditional Valentine’s flowers!
Make sure to only paint the outline of your heart “roses” so you can write your secret messages inside them!
Once you’ve written your messages, “colour in” the roses with your white wax crayon. Make sure to go over it a few times to make sure you’ve got enough to scratch away!
Paint over the top of your messages. Once dry, give the heart roses another coating to make sure the messages are completely concealed!
Add your additional decorations to make your card extra special. I’ve gone for a cute bow at the stem of the middle rose!
Now all you need to do is give your card to your special someone! ❤️
