It’s national creativity day! Therefore, it’s time to get the glue sticks and scissors out and start creating! By using a few items that you can find around your house, you can create this loveable bear too.

Paddington Bear Craft Step Finished

What you’ll need:

For Paddington

Toilet roll
Half an A4 sheet of red paper
One sheet of blue felt
PVA Glue
Yellow Thread / Button
Scissors

For the suitcase and sandwiches

Small matchbox
Brown parcel paper
Black marker
Light brown felt / paper
Dark brown felt / paper
PVA glue
Scissors

To make Paddington:

First, begin by making Paddington’s hat! Take your red paper and fold it in half.

Fold it in half again.

Open up your paper and make a triangle by folding down the top right corner into the middle. Repeat on the top left hand side.

Fold the bottom edge up to meet the triangle. Fold the overlapping corners onto the back. Add a small amount of glue just to secure the paper down.

Repeat on the back.

Now, to get the hats shape, lift both of the bottom edges up to give the rim a slight curve.

Tuck the tip of the hat back to give it more of a squared shape.

Glue the hat to the top of your toilet roll. Make sure not to glue it too low!

Cut a strip out of your blue felt to create his coat.

Glue your felt onto the toilet roll.

Now, using your marker, draw on two eyes, a nose and mouth.

Finally, glue on your buttons or stitch two lines to secure the felt.

Leave to dry.

To make the suitcase and sandwiches:

No Paddington is complete without his suitcase and marmalade sandwiches!

Find a small matchbox and wrap brown parcel paper around the outside.

Cut a small strip for the handle.

Colour the outer corners of the suitcase to give it a realistic touch.

For the sandwiches, you can either use felt or paper to cut out triangles for the sandwiches, which can be kept fresh and tasty in the suitcase!

Now all you need to do is find a home for your cute new Paddington Bear!
