Today we have started learning to ride a bike using the fab Micro Balance Bikes from the makers of Micro Scooters!

We had fun such testing these out! The idea behind this is that if children learn to balance on one of these bikes they will find the transition to a ‘proper’ bike much easier.

Here’s how we got on!

As these two have never been on a bike before we had a few laughs getting on and staying on. It seems it really is a skill to learn to balance, even with 2 feet on the floor!! microscooters

Once on the balance bike they both spent a good while ‘shuffling’ around, getting the feel for keeping the it upright!! But after a little demo from Mummy (not recommended!) of what to do the 3 year old was off! ….Literally! In all directions at great speed! She had a wonderful time.

The 2 year old is still practising and after a few days is just beginning to start lifting his feet off the ground. He is extremely proud of his bike and will not be removed from it during ‘waking hours’! He even kisses it goodnight! I have no doubt he will be keeping up with his very sister soon!

The bikes come in 5 bright colours , they really are incredibly light which makes it easy for small children to handle and it is really simple to adjust the height of the seat to suit your child.

These balance bikes are beautifully crafted and you can see they are very high quality. I also love that the wheels are of a solid construction so no punctures to deal with! They cost £99.95 which may seem pricey but once your little one does get the hang of it they will have hours of fun! Just think you can for lovely weekend walks and actually get somewhere!!
