sunbulletTrooping The Colour, London, 13th June, 10.30am, FREE
Take the family along to this annual royal tradition that celebrates the marking of The Queen’s official birthday. Full of military pomp and pageantry you will first see the Queen inspect the troops of the Household Division, then will then lead the troops down the famous Mall towards Buckingham Palace in a carriage. Afterwards, the Queen appears with the Royal Family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace and everyone can enjoy a RAF flypast.

sunbulletFolkestone and Ashford Military Show, 13th & 14th June, Adult £8, Child £5, Family £20, ages 6+.
If your kids love tanks and anything military take them along to this show where they will see  military vehicles, re-enactments, displays and even a fun fair! Over the weekend there will be wide-ranging displays such as the Essex Dog Team, the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment Parachute Display Team, the Teeny Boppers Dance Group and many more. Best of all if you book in advance a family ticket is only £10!

Bristol is this year’s ‘European Green Capital’ and this means this year’s Festival of Nature is bigger than ever!  Throughout the weekend there will be talks, activities and performances. There’s so much going on it’s worth checking the programme, however my top picks are; the ‘Pond dipping’ exhibition in Millennium square where children can hunt for pond bugs and look at them under a microscope and in Anchor Square check out the amazing pop up butterfly garden! The world famous BBC Natural History Unit will be displaying all the fancy gizmos that help them create their amazing shows, plus you could even meet some well known presenters including Bill Oddie and Cbeebies Andy Day. e throughout the festival.
