Pack up and head outside this May half-term to some of our fantastic picks in Manchester! From free swimming to Peppa Pig, there’s lots for you to enjoy in this metropolis.

SEA LIFE to Meet Peppa Pig

📍 SEA LIFE Centre, Manchester

Join Peppa on her Aquarium Adventure at SEA LIFE Manchester. There’s a fun interactive trail where you can help to spot seahorses, count starfish, and learn how fast sharks can swim, as well as a variety of fun family activities! We Invented the Weekend

📍 MediaCity and Salford Quays
⏰ Running 3rd – 4th June 2023

This free Weekend Festival has 200+ free activities. Ranging from live music, creative workshops, gaming, performances, sports, and more! No tickets are required, however, some events require you to book your free space. Have a browse to find what’s on here.

 

The Tiger who came to Tea Garden Trail

📍 Tatton Park, Knutsford
⏰ Running 1st April – 3rd September 2023

Experience a wholesome walk through an adventure trail in Tatton Park. It’s ideal for tigers of all ages! Explore nature, the great outdoors, and the story of ‘The Tiger who came to Tea’. Entry is free for National Trust Members and starts at £8 for Parkland entry (Price Per Car). A trail pack can be pre-ordered for £2 it includes stickers, a mask, a trail map, and space for brass rubbings. Discover more here.

 

Spring Escape Fun Fair

📍 Trafford Centre, Manchester
⏰ Running 26th May – 4th June 2023

Spring Escape, funhouse, gymnastics and acrobats.

Racing cars, balloon rides, ponies and all your favourite funfair attractions are coming back to the Trafford Centre in 2023 for another Spring Escape. This family-friendly event has pop-up stalls, thrilling rides, a funhouse and many more rides. You can pre-book tickets for just £2.50 per person, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Free Swimming

⏰ Running 29th May – 2nd June 2023

There’s free swimming across Manchester throughout half-term! Enjoy free sessions at your local pool. It couldn’t be easier to go for a dip and a splash! Firstly, find your local swimming pool here, then register by visiting the pool – you’ll need to bring proof of age and address (if you have a swimming pass you do not need to re-register). That’s it, you’ll be doing backstrokes in no time!

 

You Choose: A Unique Musical

📍 Pier 8, The Quays, Salford
⏰ Running 31st May – 2nd June 2023

You Choose is a unique show where the audience decides what happens! Using a picture book for inspiration, the show transforms as different characters, locations, costumes, and games are chosen by the young members of the audience. This interactive family musical is based on the book by Pippa Goodhart and Nick Sharratt. Find out more here.

 

Science and Industry Museum

Discover 250 years of innovations and inventions that have changed our lives forever. This museum is perfect for nurturing curiosity and sparking wonder in any budding scientists, engineers, or trailblazers. The museum is free to enter, but you must book your ticket in advance!
