How to make football cupcakes

Check out these football cupcakes, they’re so easy to create!
Even better still, they taste so great!
Quick and easy for little ones, plus affordable too,
Be sure to save one, just for you!

What you will need:

For the cakes:

⚽️150g butter, unsalted
⚽️150g Golden caster sugar
⚽️3 eggs
⚽️125g self-raising white flour
⚽️25g cocoa powder

For the buttercream:

⚽️50g butter, unsalted
⚽️175g icing sugar
⚽️Green food colour

For the decoration:

⚽️ Football edible cupcakes toppers

How to make:

Step 1. Begin by heating the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C, gas mark 4) and lining a cupcake tray with 12 paper cupcake cases.

Step 2. Next, place the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl together and beat with a wooden spoon (or electric mix if you have one!) until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.

Step 3.  Now, crack in your eggs and stir in the flour and cocoa powder too until smooth.

Step 4. Next, place the mixture into the cupcake casings and place in the oven to bake for 20-25 minutes. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before going on to the next stage.

Step 5. Now it’s time to make the buttercream. In a bowl mix, the butter and icing sugar together until the consistency is light and fluffy then add a drop of green food colouring to turn the icing green.

Step 6. Next, using a piping bag and grass nozzle, pipe the icing on top of each cupcake. Finally, place an edible football cupcake topper on top of each cupcake… and ta-daaaaah you have some fun football cupcakes!
