The Winter Garden

One of the largest temperate glasshouses to be built in the UK during the last hundred years has created a stunning green world in the heart of the city. Housing over 2,500 plants from around the world the building is 70 m long and 22 m high (that’s 5,000 domestic greenhouses!). A wide range of refreshments and facilities are available. The Millennium Gallery

Rother Valley Country Park

With over 750 acres of beautiful countryside including the Trans-Pennine way, a nature reserve and cycle routes, there are loads to do that won’t cost a penny! Perfect for picnics, nature walks and a brisk cycle. Don’t forget to check out Adventure Valley to make sure the little ones are tired out before you head home! Click here for more information.

Millhouses Park

Fancy soaking Dad or drenching Mum? Then Millhouses Park is your next stop! Home to Splash Water Play is located on the site of the old swimming pool and lido.  It is an interactive play area and includes an Archimedes screw, hand pumps and seesaws that pump water into a large channel, where it can be dammed in several places before being scooped by a water wheel and fed into a recycling tank. Heeley City Farm

 

The perfect place to get up close and personal with farm animals, this friendly farm and environmental visitor centre lies in the heart of Sheffield, Heeley, South Yorkshire. Sheffield Botanical Gardens

For a delightful day out with the family, head to the Sheffield Botanical Gardens. Walk around the gorgeous gardens and discover stunning flowers and plants, coupled with wonderful sights and smells. Weston Park Museum Sheffield
