Half Term is nearly over, but if you’re still looking for some fun without breaking the bank then check out these great, FREE days out!

Royal Armouries Fort Nelson; Fareham, Hampshire

Kids will love a visit to this fabulous museum which as well as having fascinating artillery on display, also boasts stunning views over Portsmouth Harbour to admire. The children will love exploring the fort and learning about how it would have operated, and there are fun things going on over February half term to get stuck into!

Sheldon Country Park; Birmingham

Enjoy the great outdoors with a visit to this fabulous country park, which is perfect for spotting wildlife! There is also The Old Rectory Farm which is definitely worth a visit as the children will learn all about the traditional farming methods! There are even some pretty cool residents to meet including Jersey cattle, geese and pigs!

Liverpool Planetarium; World Museum Liverpool

Summerlee The Museum of Scottish Industrial Life; Coatbridge, Scotland

Summerlee was formerly one of Scotland’s most important ironworks and is now a fun heritage museum. There are many attractions for the family to enjoy including Scotland’s only operational heritage tramway, a recreated mine with guided tours, miners cottages and a play park.

Science Museum; London

This museum is sure to provide an action packed educational day out for all. Explore space and see a piece of the moon, and get your adrenaline pumping in the flight simulator. Visit The Garden which is an interactive gallery especially created for the little ones where they can explore light and sound, as well as water and construction.

Durdle Door & Lulworth Cove; Dorset

A stunning, scallop-shaped cove and rock formation ‘Durdle Door’,  formed approximately 10,000 years ago by the power of water. The landscape around the cove is constantly changing and the area is extremely important for its geology.

Coram’s Fields; London

One of the most child friendly spaces in central London and you can only get through the gate if you have a child under 16 with you! At the park you will find a giant sandpit, an array of climbing frames to suit all ages, aerial slide and zip lines, wheeled toys that can be borrowed, plus a city farm, all set within a walled garden!
