Festive Fun

Spot ‘Santa’ training his Reindeer this week!

Written by Claire

Last year we were lucky enough to spot ‘Santa’ making his way across the sky on Christmas Eve. This year he won’t be able to wave as he delivers his toys, but you WILL be able to see him training his reindeer! Find out when in this blog.

The International Space Station (Santa to you and me!) will be most visible this week. Especially on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday evening when he will be visible for between 3-5 minutes at a time.

Wednesday: 5.40pm
Thursday: 4.48pm
Saturday: 4.40pm

Check out exact timings for your area HERE

You will get the best view in an area without too much light pollution, so head into the countryside a park or to the coast. Take binoculars or a telescope if you have one – although you will be able to see ‘Santa’ without them. Remember to wrap up warm, standing around waiting can be a chilly business!

Fingers crossed for  a cloud free week, we need clear skies to spot Santa Space Station!
