Make a splash at these awesome outdoor waterparks

The sun is out and you’re all boiling hot,
But what can you do that’s fun for the lot?
Boats, slides, pools and water sports,
You’re sure to have fun of all sorts!

Pugneys Country Park, Wakefield, West Yorkshire

There are two large lakes with a watersport centre where you can have a go at sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and kayaking. The country park is over 250 acres and there are many walks that you can take or just enjoy relaxing around one of the lakes. You can also watch the wildlife at the smaller lake which is a nature reserve. Find out more here.

Kielder Water and Forest Park, Haltwhistle, Northumberland

This Forest Park is the largest man-made water and forest park in the north of Europe. It is the perfect place for a family to enjoy varied outdoor activities from stargazing to water sports, cycling or walking. Look out for wonderful wildlife that call this beautiful place their home including otters, red squirrels and birds of prey! Kingsbury Water Park, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands

You can take part in powerboat racing and skiing here, as well as have a go on the pedal boats. If that’s not for you, how about fishing? There are 600 acres of country park with 15 lakes, so there is plenty of room for the children to run around in! Find out more here.

Rockley, Poole, Dorset

So many water based activities for all of the family to do on this lake – the largest saltwater lake in the UK. Swan pedaloes, kayaking and windsurfing are just a few activities on offer here! They also offer holiday camps, children’s clubs, lessons and equipment hire. Find out more here.

Bala Lake, Wales

This fun outdoor centre offers excitement and adventure. Highly skilled instructors will ensure you have a safe but fun time doing activities such as canoeing, abseiling, windsurfing, sailing, archery, camp craft, raft building, mountain biking,  gorge walking, and whitewater rafting. New Forest Water Park, Fordingbridge, Hampshire

Activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, wake-boarding, and inflatable banana & tyre rides, are on offer so you’ll always find something to do! Boating in Hyde Park, Hyde Park, London

When it gets hot in the capital why not take the kids out on the Serpentine with one of the pedal boats? There is also the Solarshuttle, an electric boat which glides across the lake. Afterwards, visit the Serpentine Boat House which was designed by Graham Ford & Francis Scot. Find out more here.
