Make Your Own Opening Ceremony
To kick start the Olympics themed fun, get your little ones picking a country from a hat, creating their very own flag and making their own mascots too! For a real celebration throw in some party poppers and put on some music.
Discus
Grab a Frisbee for some discus inspired fun! Have your little competitors stand behind a marked line and throw their Frisbee (marked with their initials to save confusion!) as far as they can. Whoever has thrown theirs the farthest away wins!
Gymnastics Display
Little gymnasts will love showing off their skills for a Gymnastics Display! Have your little ones create their own mini routine and perform it to the judges… you! Make up a batch of scoring cards and mark them out of 10. Whoever has the most points win! Be sure to have lots of sweets on hand to award all performers for their creativity!
Hold a Football Tournament
No sporting activity day would be complete without a round of the beautiful game! Set up your football pitch with either some nets, cones or any other markers to signify the goals. Divide your little David Beckham’s into equal groups (if you don’t have equal numbers, see if someone wants to volunteer as referee) and time your match. The team with the most goals wins!
Basketball
Fancy having your very own basketball ring in your garden for this fun and competitive game? You can pick up one here! To continue the Olympics themed fun, divide your little ones into equal teams and time the match. The team who net the most basketballs wins!
Running and Relay Races
Give this much loved and traditional Olympic game a twist by passing on some cute and quirky items to pass on! Perhaps some inflatable animals, pretty wind catchers or the good old fashioned sports day beanie bag? The first team to reach the finish line wins!
Badminton
Grab some rackets, shuttlecocks and set up your badminton court for this much loved Olympic classic! The team who score the most points at the end of the match wins! Why not get your little ones to decorate their rackets for some personalised fun?
Fruity Drinks
To quench your little athlete’s thirst after a busy and active day, make up a batch of fruity and vitamin packed drinks. Add fancy straws and wedges of fruit on the side for a summertime twist!
