Yippee it’s the final weekend of January and what feels like the longest month ever is almost over! If you’re thinking of heading out this weekend, you don’t need to spend a fortune. Here’s our pick of free events happening for all the family to enjoy!

Big Garden Birdwatch; Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield, 30th and 31st January

Come along with all the family and join in with this annual wildlife survey to see how many feathered friends you can see. This is part of a national campaign so you’ll be part of something really special!

Back Packs! Victoria and Albert Museum; London, 30th and 31st January, 10:30am – 5pm

Grab a very special back pack which has loads of themed goodies inside and you can use it to explore this wonderful museum. There are even Agent Animal bags made especially for little ones under 5!

Ancient Egypt at the Great North Museum; Newcastle upon Tyne, 30th and 31st January

Embark on a fascinating journey as you learn all about how the Ancient Egyptians lived their every day lives, as well as their religious beliefs as you pass through the virtual River Nile.

Visit this awesome museum and build your very own Lego masterpiece and have it displayed at the museum for a day!

I Spy…Nature Big Garden Birdwatch; National Museum Cardiff, 31st January, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm

Join the RSPB for a fun day of bird activities to celebrate the Big Garden Birdwatch! Learn all about the birds in your garden, and take a guided bird walk around the museum and spot some super cool birds up close, and make your very own yummy bird feeder to hang in your garden.
