Festive Fun

Christmas table named place holder

Written by Suzie

 Claire’s Tip:

Little children will need some help. Older children will find this great fun and their place holders can be ‘shown off’ on your Christmas Lunch table!

You need:

PLACEHOLDER 1

  • Small wrapped box (i.e. match box)
  • Wrapping paper
  • Selotape
  • Scissors
  • Lolly sticks
  • Green pipe cleaners
  • Green crayon
  • Sequins or things to decorate the tree
  • Pritt Stick

To make:

  1. Wrap your small box (I used a match box) with the wrapping paper
  2. PLACEHOLDER 2
  3. Colour the lolly stick green with the crayon
  4. Wrap about 4 pipe cleaners tightly around the stick spaced out like the branches of a Christmas tree
  5. Cut the pipe cleaners into a triangular tree shape
  6. Decorate the tree by sticking on the sequins with the glue
  7. PLACEHOLDER 3
  8. Make a slit in the small box and slot the tree in
  9. PLACEHOLDER 4
  10. Write the name on the box. Using a gold or silver pen would be better than the biro I used!
  11. Display on your Christmas table for all to see!
  12. PLACEHOLDER 5
