Let’s go and get off the sofa with these fab and fun games,
From Colour Walk, ABC and even animal charades!
To scavenger hunts, an obstacle course and even basketball too,
Here’s our handy list of ideas hand-picked just for you!
1. Animal Charades
Give this much loved classic an animal-themed twist! Write the names of various animals on slips of paper and pop them into a bowl. Take turns picking out a slip of paper and acting out what animal you’ve chosen until someone chooses correctly!
2. Colour Walk
Get your little ones creating a path with different coloured card, making sure to use alternative colours for each step (e.g. no two red cards next to each other).
Then, choose one colour that they can stand on to get from one end of the path to the other. For example, they can only jump from one red card to the other, or yellow and red. Be sure to secure your card using sticky tape to avoid any nasty slips!
3. ABC
This is great for little ones who are into their Yoga! See how many letters of the alphabet you can twist your body into, shaping with the help of friends. It’s also a fun way to get those just learning their ABC’s into the swing of things!
4. Travelling Basketball
This one is fab for little ones who are lovers of basketball! Using a variety of buckets or containers, place one in the middle of each room in your house. Then, using rolled up socks, stand at the doorway and see if you can throw them in!
Once you have, go on to the next room. The person who reaches the last room first wins!
5. Hide and Seek
What could beat this much loved traditional game? If you’re unfamiliar with the rules, one person counts from 10 – 100 (depending on how ambitious you’re feeling!) whilst the others hide. It’s then up to the counter to find all of those hiding cheeky monkeys!
6. Scavenger Hunt
Why not have a go at making your very own scavenger hunt? Head on over to our very handy Scavenger Hunt Ultimate Guide which will give you some tips and tricks on how to get started!
7. Obstacle Course
What could be more fun than creating your very own obstacle course? This could work great in the garden for those extra sunny summer days. You can use anything you have lying around the house, from hula hoops, mats, balls and more, to make your own route. The first person to make their way through wins!
8. Bug Hunt
If your budding little forest rangers are after a nature-based activity, a bug hunt is the way to go! Head on over to our Bug Hunting Ultimate Guide blog post which will help you get started!
9. Don’t Touch The Lava!
Place pieces of paper at random on the floor. Pretend the floor is lava. To avoid touching it, you have to jump from one piece of paper to another to safely get across from one side of the room to another.
If you fancy adding an educational twist on this, why not write vocabulary words or math problems on them to solve?
10. Balloon Volleyball
Whilst you may not be at the beach, this seaside sport can be just as fun in your living room! Clear some space, grab a beach ball and divide up into teams. The same rules apply!
What have you been up to? We’d really love to know! Someone else might love it, and really want to go! If you’ve got ideas, suggestions or reviews, you can shout all about it on whatever channel you choose!
