Moors Valley Country Park, Ringwood

Located in the New Forest and covering 1000 acres, there is something for everyone at Moors Valley Country Park. If you’re looking for some more fun after finding the gruffalo, you can walk, cycle, go on the authentic narrow-gauge steam train or swing from the tree tops at GoApe! Find out more.

Cardinham Woods, Cornwall

Come and find the gruffalo in this stunning mixed woodland, where you’ll also get to take in some amazing views and learn all about its intriguing history. For rumbling tums, head to the Woods Cafe. Find out more.

Haldon Forest Park, Exeter

There are plenty of trails to follow including the butterfly walk to try and spot rare butterflies that call the forest their home. Kids will love the Discovery Trail that has fun features along the way. For experienced mountain bikers the technical trail is designed just for them! Find out more.

Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, Kent

The National Pinetum has over 12,000 tree specimens spread out over 320 acres. There are plenty of walks that you can take around the forest, the adventure play will keep the children entertained for an hour or so and you can hire a bike to go along the cycle routes! Find out more.

Well known for it’s internationally renowned tree collection and heritage landscape, this aboretum has plenty of different play zones hidden around for children aged 5 – 11, as well as a number of interactive trails and quizzes designed for families to do together! Find out more.

Grizedale Forest, Cumbria
