Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Cheddar, Somerset

Powis Castle and Garden, Welshpool, Wales

Perched on a rock and dominating the landscape is this dramatic castle. Originally built by Welsh Princes and was then the ancestral home of the Herberts and Clives. Packed full with amazing antiques and paintings there is plenty to see. The children will love the Children’s Trail that leads them around the castle finding the different clues. The Blue Pool, Wareham, Dorset

Set in the Purbeck Hills in Dorset-  The Blue Pool is a stunning man-made pool known for its gorgeous blue colour. This pool is not for swimming, unfortunately, but it offers a perfect summer day out for all the family.  Take some woodland walks in the surrounding areas or relax on one of the nearby benches and soak up the sun.  There are various spots for picnics and a lovely tea room offering a range of hot and cold food and drink, why not try their famous afternoon tea? Glasgow Botanic Gardens, Glasgow, Scotland

A beautiful place to take the whole family for a sunny day out. As you walk through the gardens, you’ll marvel at the array of plant collections, and even some tropical ponds. The Royal Observatory, Greenwich
