Let’s go on a road trip and play some fun car games,
From 20 questions, cheese please and alphabet animal names!
Wind down your window and see what you can spot,
Can you remember what’s on my shopping list… or have you forgot?
The Alphabet Game
This one is great for little ones just starting to learn their alphabet! Get them looking out of their window to see what they can spot – be it an object, number plate or sign – that starts with the letter A and continue this with each letter of the alphabet. The first person to get from A to Z wins!
I Went To the Shops and Bought A…
This classic car game is sure to challenge your little ones’ thinking caps… and get them giggling whilst they’re at it too! Start by saying “I went to the shops and bought a…” before choosing an item. The next person repeats this, before adding a new item of their choosing, and so on. You might be there a while… or you might just run out of things to buy!
Cheese Please
Choose one person to close their eyes and one person (secretly, of course!) to say “Cheese please!” in a silly voice. The person with their eyes closed has to guess who said the phrase and, if they get it wrong, another person has a turn at saying it. Continue this until they get it right and another person gets a go at guessing who said what. This one’s great for building sensory awareness and for improving their listening skills!
The Name Game
One person starts by naming an animal. The next person has to name another animal, which starts with the last letter of the previous animal named. This one’s great for slightly older children who like a challenge. You can change this to be any category that they’re interested in e.g. music, TV shows, etc. to get them more enthusiastic too!
Twenty Questions
This one is another car journey classic that’s great for building your little ones social skills… and knowledge of a new animal they may not have heard of before! Start by getting them to think of an animal. Everyone takes it turns to ask a question that can be answered with a simple yes or no. After they’ve answered twenty questions each player has a chance to guess the animal!
What have you been up to? We’d really love to know! Someone else might love it, and really want to go! If you’ve got ideas, suggestions or reviews, you can shout all about it on whatever channel you choose!
