Plan a trip to your local museum this half term
Keep little ones busy this half term with a visit to your local museum! National Museums Liverpool has plenty of activities to keep the boredom at bay.
Create a poster made from Lego inspired by the Merseyside Maritime Museum’s new exhibition, Sail Away (26, 27, 28 May). Then meet a pirate and discover what life on the high seas was like (29 May).
Head downstairs into Seized! Border and Customs Uncovered to make Customs cutter, these boats are the fastest on the sea (31 May).
At the International Slavery Museum, learn about African masks and make one using traditional designs (26, 27 May).
Kick back and listen to stories told with puppets and props at the Museum of Liverpool (24, 31 May). Or make Meccano models like the ones on display in the Museum (26, 27 May).
Up at William Brown Street, get creative and make spring crafts at the Walker Art Gallery, inspired by the paintings and objects on display (27, 28, 29 May).
At World Museum, learn about the largest, smallest, fastest and most dangerous animals in an afternoon all about animal record breakers (31 May, 1 June).
Out of town, create a colour by numbers landscape using the Lady Lever Art Gallery’s exhibition, Turner: travels, light and landscape for inspiration (28 May).
At Sudley House, decorate a parrot inspired by the paintings on display (24 May).
