Women in Aviation Half Term
26th – 30th May 2014
This May half term the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford will be celebrating the achievements made by women in aviation.
From Monday 26th to Friday 30th May there will be a free trail for children to take part in based around the pioneering women that have helped shape aviation history. Plus, female staff members will be dressed as some of the most iconic female aviators including Amy Johnson who set numerous long-distance records during the 1930’s and flew in the Second World War as part of the Air Transport Auxiliary. Staff will be speaking with families about their inspirational lives and the roles they played.
A small exhibition will be on display throughout May half term, located in the Temporary Exhibition Gallery in the Museum’s Hangar 1.
‘Women in Aviation half term’ is FREE of charge. Children can pick up their trail from the Admissions Desk on arrival at the Museum and you will find all of the characters within the Museum hangars throughout the day. You do not need to book in advance.
