🌊 1. Blackpool Beach 🌊
There is nothing quite like a day at the Seaside, even if it is a little on the chilly side! Grab the hats and scarfs, wrap up warm and head to Blackpool beach! – One of the best beach resorts you will find in the UK and recently awarded it’s first-ever Blue Fag!
🏡 2. Blackpool Model Village & Gardens 🏡
The award-winning Blackpool Model Village and Gardens has been inspiring the imaginations of families for decades! Set over two acres of beautifully landscaped lands, you will find lots of handcrafted models woven into the gardens. There are models for every member of the family to enjoy. 🎨 3. Grundy Art Gallery 🎨
Grundy Art Gallery is the perfect place for families with budding artists amongst them to visit! This awesome art gallery features a programme of different contemporary visual art exhibitions from both new and established artists in the UK and aboard! 🎭 4. Great Promenade Show 🎭
Take a stroll with the family along the South Promenade and admire The Great Promenade show – a collection of ten fabulous pieces of artwork, all of which reflect Blackpool’s history and characters! Do you have a mini dancer amongst the family? They for sure will be blown away by the world’s largest dance hall mirror ball at six metres in diameter and weighing six tonnes which feature in this show! The collection also includes an organ powered directly by the swell of water at high tide and an eight-meter tall sculpture made using entirely stainless steels and wood.
🦆 5. Stanley Park 🦆
Stanley Park is the main park in Blackpool and with more than two million people visiting this park every year, you will want to make sure you’re one of them! On a visit here with the family, you can expect to see stunning gardens, historic buildings as well as have as lots of fun activities for the little ones to get involved with. From feeding the ducks on the lake to exploring the play area which includes rocking horses, see-saws and climbing frames. If the weather is dry, you can take a picnic and sit out in the garden to have lunch. If not, there is a lovely art deco cafe where you can have some lunch whilst enjoying some live music. 🗼 6. The Blackpool Tower and Comedy Carpet Blackpool 🗼
Although a trip up The Blackpool Tower will cost you money, there is nothing stopping you and the family from admiring the 158m high legendary Blackpool landmark from outside! Note, there are some public areas in the Tower which do not cost you a thing to enter. Plus, just across from The Blackpool Tower, you will find the Comedy Carpet – one of the largest pieces of public art ever commissioned in the UK! The 2,200m2 work of art contains over 160,000 granite letters embedded into the concrete. All celebrating the jokes, songs and catchphrases of some of Britain’s most loved comedians and writers. 🐎7. World Horse Welfare Penny Farm 🐎
Located just outside of Blackpool centre, Penny Farm is a fun-filled day out for animal lovers. This horse rescue and rehabilitation centre welcomes visitors 3 days a week to meet the 65 horses based at this centre. There is also an exciting activity trail here called ‘Dale’s Trails’ which allows families to complete a fun activity trail around the farm. You will be able to see the horses and ponies relaxing in the fields as well as learn about the farm environment and the wild birds and animals that live here. Find out more here.
⚓️ 8. Coral Island ⚓️
Ahoy there me hearties, Coral Island is Blackpool’s largest free admission attraction and where kids eat free all day every day in the five restaurants here! There are hours of fun to be had here no matter what your age with family bingo pirate-themed games and rides plus a casino with slots and tables. Note, some of the arcade games in Coral Island do require you to pay. Find out more here.
🌳 9. Marton Mere Local Nature Reserve 🌳
Marton Mere Local Nature Reserve is a gorgeous place to take a walk and admire the wildlife with all the family! There are a series of designated footpaths for you to choose from, with lots to see along the way! From dragonflies to orchids and lots of rabbits and ducks too.
🌊 10. The Three Piers 🌊
Blackpool is the only British beach resort to boast not one, not two, but three fabulous piers! The North Pier, The Central Pier and The South Pier are all packed full of exciting activities and rides for the whole family to get involved with!
The North Pier is a wonderful starting point for exploring Blackpool’s beaches and is home to a lovely Victorian tea room, two-tier Venetian Carousel and an ice cream parlour, all sure to be a huge hit with the family. Walk a little further down the beach and you will reach the Central Pier. Here, you will find the most striking feature of all, a 108ft high Ferris wheel! Family-friendly arcade games, a funfair and the popular Funhouse Family Bar can also be found at this magnificent pier. Finally, the South Pier is a brilliant attraction for families as the whole pier is a mini theme park, featuring go-karting, dodgems, water, the Crazy Mouse rollercoaster and SO much more! Some of the attractions on the piers, for example, the rides, do requires for you to pay however admission is free!
