This fabulous zoo is holding its annual event welcoming children with special needs, their brothers and sisters, family and friends to a weekend of interactive events, including sensory stories, songs, and games, with increased specialist facilities so everyone can enjoy a brilliant day out. The Dulwich Spring Fair, London, 16th May 10am-5pm
Enjoy a whole day of family fun at this spring fair. There will be vintage fairground rides, Shaun the Sheep activities, a street food market, baby farm animals crafts and more! There’s even a kids activity tent with storytelling, craft parties, arts and performing arts for the family to enjoy.

Shepley Spring Festival, 15th & 16th May, Day tickets start from Adult £30 and children under 15 FREE
This village festival takes place over three days and welcomes families with open arms! There will be performances by a range of musical acts from folk, rock and traditional artists. There will be family fun activities including craft, food and drink stalls. Inside a little ‘big top’ you will find ‘Panic Circus’ where you can test out unicycles, hoops and diablos and even take part in the show! There’s also ‘Kid’s Zone’ where the kids can make a range of crafts including lanterns, cushions and blankets. Go for the whole three days or pop along for a day!

Eastbourne Sports Festival, 16-17th May 2015, £1 per person per activity.
This fantastic sports festival, that takes place across sports centres in Eastbourne is an opportunity to for the family to try out a range of sports and raises money for the NSPCC. There’s a huge timetable of events with activities for adults and children of all ages. Each activity is £1 per person and you can try anything from Zumba, tampolining, little kickers football to roller discos, scuba diving and much, much more!

Keswick Mountain Festival, Keswick, Cumbria, 14– 17th May, ages 8+, Weekend Ticket: Adult £55, Child £30 including camping.
Set in the heart of the Lake District is this exciting outdoor festival! Over the four days there will be a range of guided activities that all the family can enjoy including canoeing, sailing, bushcraft, rock climbing, spoon carving and lots more. There will also be live music from artists such as Badly Drawn Boy, talks by fascinating speakers in the adventure Tipi and a range of delicious local food and drink for you to enjoy.

50 Things Wild Camp, Stackpole, Pembrokeshire, £15pp BOOKING ESSENTIAL
This will be a real family adventure as you will be spending the night in the Stackpole woods! An internationally important nature reserve. The family take part in wild fire cooking, woodland activities and bushcraft workshops. You need to take along a tent, warm clothing, sleepwear and food for dinner and breakfast. Camps take place on 15th, 16th and 17th May.

Stone Age School ,Cave Art, Kents Cavern, Devon, 16th May, 10am -12pm or 2pm-4pm, ages 6 -12, £5 BOOKING ESSENTIAL
It’s ‘Back to School’ this weekend but the Stone Age way! Kids can learn how to make paint from rocks and use shells as palettes to decorate larger rocks just as they would have all those years ago! Booking is essential to guarantee a space and children must be accompanied by an adult (up to 4 children per adult).

Countryside Festival, Kirkley Hall, Northumberland, 17th May, 10am-4pm, £3
This countryside festival will include a variety of arts and crafts, tree climbing, land bases skills and dog agility which always raises a smile! Entry to the Zoological Gardens is also included and  kids can enjoy all the animals on offer and the fun play areas too!

Edible Archaeology at Prestongrange Museum, Edinburgh, FREE
Scotland’s ‘Festival of Museums’ is back for another weekend packed full of events and activities for all the family to enjoy showcasing the rich and cultural heritage of Scotland. This particular museum has a fantastic event kids will love exploring times gone by and finding out what our ancestors did when they hunted for food, prepared their meals, and even how they went to the loo! Kids will have a go at making drinking vessels out of clay and try their hand at bread making.
