What To Do This Half Term In Scotland – October 2016

It’s October and the kids are off so it’s time to get out and about and enjoy some autumn sunshine. This half term there are some fantastic events taking place at an attraction near you and here’s my list of things NOT to miss!

  Halloween Fright Night at Glasgow Science Centre; Glasgow

28th October 6pm – 9:30pm

Calling all ghoulish grown-ups and creepy kids! You are invited to Scotland’s big family Halloween party for a night of scary entertainment, freaky activities and competitions. Everyone gets a goody bag but goodness knows what will be in it! Find out more.

  Botanic Lights at Royal Botanic Garden; Edinburgh

13th October – 6th November

Come along with all the family and see a magical event at these beautiful gardens, where trails of lights will bring the gardens alive with stunning colours of the seasons. Lasers and other amazing technology will create a unique experience everyone will enjoy! Find out more.

 Air Space Trampoline Park, Glasgow

If you go down to the woods tonight… you can take part in a spooky guided walk on the look out for some of this reserves creepier inhabitants! Kids can also enjoy some fang-tastic fun crafts in the visitor centre. They’ll be some devilishly good home baked cakes on sale too! Find out more.

 Jacobite Ghost Tour, Traquair House

28th – 29th October

Families with brave little monsters aged 8 and above will love this spooky ghost tour, all with the grounds of an ancient castle! Look out for past inhabitants who might be hiding in the shadows ready to share a tale or two and sing some haunting songs! Find out more.

 Zoo lab Halloween, Fyvie Castle

29th October

Zoolab is back at Fyvie Castle for Halloween! Come and hear spooky stories about creepy creatures and then meet them face to face with a Zoolab Ranger. Remember to dress up too! Find out more.

 Halloween Spooktacular! Craigtoun Country Park

29th October, 4:30 – 7pm

Come along with all the family and enjoy a traditional Halloween experience with lots of fun games and ghoulish entertainment! Take a ride on the ghost train (if you dare!) and everyone is invited to get dressed up in their spooktacular best for the fancy dress parade! Find out more.

 Halloween Disco, Brodie Castle

29th – 30th October, 2 – 4pm

It’s time to throw some monster moves on the dance floor this Halloween at the Brodie Castle’s Halloween Disco! Kids can enjoy dancing, themed games and some very freaky food! Find out more.

 Outbreak! M&D’s Theme Park

30th – 31st October, 7pm

This brilliant 15 minute experience sounds like terrifying fun this Halloween! Kids under the age of 15 can enjoy it if accompanied by a grown-up so why not be brave and see what all the freaky fuss is about! Find out more.

Go Ape! Crathes Castle, Banchory
