Chocolatey, crunchy and no need to bake,
let’s treat ourselves with this simple Malteser Cake!
Lets go and have some fun,
So put on your apron!
You will need:
250g Milk chocolate
100g butter
2 tbsp golden syrup
150g Maltesers
150g digestive biscuits
50g mini marshmallows (optional)
Shallow baking tray lined with greaseproof paper
Method:
Crush the digestive biscuits and roughly half of the Maltesers. (I do this by loosely wrapping them in cling film and gently hitting with a rolling pin!)
Put the chocolate, butter and syrup in a bowl and melt in the microwave. The time this takes will depend on your oven so I suggest checking every 30 seconds and stirring regularly. Do not boil or burn the mixture as this will make the chocolate grainy.
Pour the crushed digestives and Maltesers into the melted chocolate and mix. Then add in the whole, uncrushed Maltesers (and if you want to the marshmallows).
Press the mixture into the baking tray and put in the fridge to set for at least 1 hour.
Cut into squares to serve.
Enjoy!
