The much-loved Robin Hood festival is back, for its 37th year. Set within their Sherwood Forest home, this free event has a plethora of action inspired attractions. Nottinghamshire Day Festival
27th August 2023
Nottingham boasts the best talents within Nottinghamshire! Musical talent from across the county will be playing, in this mixed genre festival. Situated within Sherwood Forest, this is going to be a wonderful day out. This year the festival has one of the first world’s holographic movies, using multi-media headsets, this will be an immersive experience to try out. Learn more here.
The Arboretum
Visit Nottingham’s oldest public park near the city centre! With over 800 trees and a beautiful landscape, it’s the perfect place for a family walk! So come and join the green network of the city and spend some time outdoors with the kids! Find out more here!
Stonebridge City Farm
Head to Stonebridge City Farm for an action-packed day! See some seasonal plants, produce and herbs grown by the farm and get a feel for the countryside from a city! Green’s Windmill and Science Centre
See how flour is made at Green’s Windmill! You’ll learn how the windmill works and if you go when the wind is blowing you may even be able to see the windmill sails turning! Plus, you can climb to the top of the mill tower and see over the whole of Nottingham! There’s also an incredible interactive Science Centre where you can learn about the story of George Green whose work led to the invention of MRI scanning machines! Find out more here!
Arnot Hill Park
Spend some time in a beautiful park set in the suburbs of Arnold! With a bowling green, pavilion, ball courts, rose garden, skate park, and a cafe there’s so much to do! There’s also an amazing arts trail with murals, ceramic pieces, wood carvings, and mosaics! Find out more here!
William Booth Birthplace Museum
This Musuem tells the story of William Booth, his family and the role they played in the formation of The Salvation army! From the 9-11th September there will be Heritage Open Days where you’ll be able to visit at the weekend! Discover thousands of documents and books in the library and learn the story of The Salvation Army from the 1860s up until today! Find out more here!
