Free Days Out In November

Half-term is over and it’s the run up to Christmas, eeeek! If you’re saving those pennies for the festive period ahead then don’t worry, we have found some FREE days out which all the family will enjoy!

 Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Exeter, Devon

Explore the fascinating story of Exeter and Devon from the prehistoric to the present. There are exhibitions on global exploration and collecting in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as insects, exotic birds and animals on display.

Great Notley Country Park, Essex

With over 100 acres of open space for the family to discover, as well as two fantastic wooden play areas for the children, there is plenty for all the family to enjoy the great outdoors. You will also find football pitches that can be hired, fishing is permitted and there are a range of great walks.

Attenborough Nature Centre, Nottinghamshire

Opened by Sir David Attenborough in 2005, this award-winning attraction is well worth a trip. Surrounded by a nature reserve, there are a number of trails to follow and many hides where even in the winter you can see waterfowl.

Salford Quays, Manchester

This area is Greater Manchester’s waterfront and where you’ll find the Imperial War Museum North, the BBC at Media City and the Lowry. The area was once one of the busiest docklands in the UK and is now a great place to admire the futuristic architecture, go for a meal in one of the restaurants, and of course to explore.

The Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery, Glasgow

Inside this gallery and museum there are many collections to inspire and educate the children. Spread out over 22 themed galleries with over 8,000 objects, you will see fine art, natural history and world cultures.

This huge country park offers visitors beautiful scenery, excellent leisure facilities and a visitor centre. There are many trails around the park for the family to follow and there’s an adventure playground for the children to let off some steam!

Ragged School Museum, London

Take the children to experience life as a Victorian where they can visit a classroom that has been restored as if it were the 1870’s! Equipped with authentic school desks, blackboards, easels, writing slates and even dunce hats, the kids will absolutely love it! There’s also lots of information on housing, education and work in the East End from the 1800’s to 1900.
