Free Days Out in April


It’s after the Easter Holiday’s now and after an expensive couple of weeks we have been looking for some cheaper days out. So find a selection of days out with no admission fee in this blog. Arnolfini, Bristol


This world-class modern art gallery welcome families with open arms. Throughout the year they have events that all the family can enjoy, plus there’s interactive activity guides for each exhibition.

Kettle’s Yard Hose and Gallery, Cambridge


When you visit this historic house and gallery you will be transported back in time. Follow the family trail and discover beautiful early 20th century artworks or join in with some of the family events that they have planned throughout the year.

Stockwood Discovery Centre, Luton


Inside this museum you will find collections of local social history, archaeology, geology and rural crafts. Outside there are beautiful gardens for you to explore and a children’s play area for the kids to burn off some energy.

Arbeia Roman Fort & Museum, South Shields


Here you will find a partially restored Roman fort where you can see what has been excavated from the site. The kids will love the interactive exhibits where they can get hands-on, including digging for finds in the reconstructed excavation site and studying what they have found.

Heeley City Farm, Sheffield


This friendly farm attraction has a selection of farm animals that you can meet including ducks, geese, peacocks, cows, pigs and sheep. Children under the age of 8 can enjoy the play area and there’s a café serving home cooked food.

Tollcross Children’s Farm, Glasgow


Tollcross Children’s Farm is a wonderful place to take the kids for a couple of hours. You’ll see a random mix of adorable animals including horses, peacocks, llamas, sheep, pigs and even a pair of love birds. In the visitor centre you can learn interesting facts about the animal world and watch the story of Cock Robin in 3D.

Salcey Forest, Northampton


This oasis of nature is not far from Northampton and has lots to offer families looking for a day out. You can take one of the many walking trails to explore the forest, the kids can enjoy playing in the adventure playground or you can go for a family bike ride along on of the cycle routes.

This beautiful nature reserve in Kimmeridge Bay has plenty of rockpools for you to inspect, a number of walks with stunning views for you to follow and there’s a visitor centre with marine tanks and information on the local wildlife.

Inside this exciting museum you will discover exhibitions that explore the history of Leeds over 450 million years. The kids will enjoy all the interactive and fun exhibits and you can marvel at some fascinating objects such as a 3,000 year old Egyptian mummy.
