14 Enchanting places to take the family ‘glamping’

I love camping, or at least the idea of camping; being outdoors camp fires, the stars…. but in reality I love my creature comforts and can’t see myself curled up on the floor in a sleeping bag. So I have started looking at ‘glamping’, camping for those of us who are not quite ready to embrace the basics. Here are a number of different ‘glamping’ options that I have found around the UK

Mill Farm – Devizes, Wiltshire

This gorgeous organic farm houses you in luxury canvas lodges! The fun, but stylish interiors are cosy with a double bed and also single beds in the adorable bunk barn! The farm also offers numerous activities to entertain the family including horse riding and straw play area.

Wanderlusts Gypsy Caravans- Cumbria

For glamping with a difference join wanderlusts on a horse drawn gypsy caravan holiday in the stunning Lake District. This small family business offering a completely bohemian and wonderful trip away. The bow top caravan has a double bed, two fold out kids beds, gas hob, kettle ect and you will camp in one of the scenic campsites they have to offer.

I have always wanted to stay in an yurt, traveling all the way to Mongolia was always going to be an issue for me, luckily in the countryside of Cumbria you will find these luxurious yurts, set right on the riverbank. The  wonderful yurts, come complete with wood burners, vintage furniture and comfy beds.

Showmans Wagon – Mhor Perthsire

A stay in this classic 1950s showman’s wagon is something really special, the view from every window is over the stunning loch, with room for four people a cosy wood burning stove and you are a minutes walk from the hotel, where you can use their showers and loos.
