Folk Weekend Oxford, Free or donation
At this fantastic festival you can enjoy folk music, storytelling , a traditional village fete on Gloucester Green and so much more! Join various exciting family workshops in museums around Oxford and free family concerts together with barn dancing, hands-on crafts and noisy percussion sessions!

Forestry Commission Superworm Trails, various locations across the UK, Free
Kids love bugs and insects so get outdoors and take the family on an adventure in the forest on a self led ‘Superworm Trail’ hunting for bugs and minibeasts. You can download great activity sheets from the ‘SuperWorm Trails’  website to take with you!

Udderbelly, Southbank Centre, London
The big purple cow is back this year with a packed program including some fantastic family shows! This weekend you can see The  Amazing Bubble Man, an international hit show with bubble art, magic, science and LOTS of fun! £10. Kids will also enjoy watching Circus Maximus, a live circus competition where amazing circus acts compete to win £4000! The final is on Sunday 6pm and costs £19.50

Super Hero World Record Event, 18th April, Toys R Us Stores in Warrington, Oldbury, Brent Cross & Cardff
Join in with a World Record Breaking Event! Toys R Us are aiming to get the highest number of Super Heroes together at the same time!  So bring all your Batmans, Spidermen and Wonderwomen for a wonderful time! Families and fans donning their capes, cloaks and masks will be treated to giveaways, activities and entertainment. The event will take place from 9AM – 2PM with the actual countdown at 11AM!

Family Sundays, The National Gallery, London, ages 2-11, various times 11-4pm Free
The National Gallery hosts families activities every Sunday aimed at bringing the artworks in the galleries to life for the younger audiences. For children aged 2 – 5 years there’s the ‘Magical Music Carpet’ which comes to land in front of a different painting every Sunday. Here on the carpet stories inspired by the pictures are told. There’s are also ‘Unfolding Stories’ sessions where children aged 5 – 11 can join artist Marc Woodhead and create their own concertina storybooks!

Enjoy a lovely weekend outdoors at this cute Spring Fair set in a beautiful park with wonderful gardens, walking paths and an ecotrail!  There will be lots of fun family activities on offer with an environmental theme to do with flowers, animals and birds.

Mela on Your Doorstep, Barmulloch Community Centre, Glasgow, Sun 19th April, 12.00 – 17.00, Free
This free multi-cultural festival is all about music and dance and this year the festival is celebrating its 25th birthday! There will be lots of activities and performances for the family to enjoy including Bhangra and Bollywood dance. You can sample international cookery and be inspired by arts and storytelling from around the world.

Day Out With Thomas, Llangollen Railway, Sat 18th April, 10am , Adults £18, Kids £11. Booking essential
Kids will love a day out with this very famous Tank Engine! Everyone in the family can take a ride on Thomas and meet all his friends including the Fat Controller. With lots of other activities on offer including story telling and a puppet show this is a great day out for the whole family.
