This summer Park Lives have organised a huge number of free events for all the family in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Newham London and Nottingham. Families can join in the fun athletic sessions, pond dipping, football, yoga and even DJing & radio presenting.

Throughout the summer holidays there’s a number of fun activities taking place at Kenwood. Every Tuesday and Wednesday over the summer holidays there’s going to be children’s crafts (£1 per child) or you can pick up an explorer backpack that has lots of discovery tools to be used when exploring the house and grounds.

In August the Puppet Theatre Barge is mooring up in Richmond with the very special theatre performance of The Three Pigs! The show is aimed at younger audiences and brings to life the old story with humour and mischief!  Booking is required.

Fringe By The Sea, North Berwick, Scotland: 10th – 16th August, from £7pp, All ages

This wonderful festival is a miniature version of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival but by the sea! There are lots of different shows on over the six days including theatrical performances, music, comedy and children’s shows. Join Mr Boom for an hour of family fun, he has been visiting planet earth since 1984! The kids will delight in all the songs, dancing and audience participation throughout the show.

Grand Medieval Melee, Cardiff Castle: 15th – 16th August, Adult £6, Child £4

You will be transported back in time back to medieval Wales as there will be knights, weapons and games. Be immersed in all the sights, sounds and smells of the bygone era as you walk around. There will be storytelling, weaving, cooking demonstrations and more. You will also get to see valiant knights battle it out until there’s a winner!

Chill Factore, Manchester: Pricing varies

Take to the slopes this summer at Chill Factore where there are snow-based activities for all the family happening daily. You will learn essential skills, then test what you have learnt by attempting one of the mini slalom races. They also have a children’s ski school throughout the holidays!

Water Wars, Escot Park, Devon: Adult £9.50 Child £8 Family £33, aged 5+

Be warned if you’re at Escot Park this summer as every Friday between 4 – 5pm water pistols are drawn and anyone in the maze is a target! Join in the fun and cool down after a day exploring the rest of the park. Just make sure you have packed a towel and some spare clothes for the drive home.

Battle Tactics, Leeds Castle, Kent: 11th – 13th August, 10:30 -17:00, Adults £24 Child £16, aged 5+

During a number of fun activities the kids will learn about the battle tactics that were used 600 years ago during the Battle of Arincourt. Dressed up in costumes, the young knights and princesses will have to build a castle wall out of foam blocks and defend their stronghold!
