What to do this Weekend! (Sat 7th & Sun 8th March 15)

Whether they love wildlife, star gazing or being a pirate, we have some great ideas to keep your family busy this weekend! I’ve made a little error in the video and called the NATIONAL SPACE CENTRE in Leicester the National Science Centre (oops, but now you know where I mean!) Xx


National Space Centre, Leicester: Brickish Weekend: Adults £13, Children £11 Under 5’s FREE (Pre book)

Perfect for little lego fans!  This weekend the National Space Centre is host to a huge display of amazing lego creations, including spaceships, space stations and much more!

Ripley’s Believe it or Not, London: Exclusive entry offer! £44 for a family of 4!

Royal Observatory London: Sunday Space Explorers: 8th march £1

On Sunday take your little explorer to the Royal Observatory Astronomy Centre to make their very own ‘star finder’. Then use it to identify stars and constellations in the night sky! Workshops are at 12.00, 12.30, 14.00, 14.30, 15.00, 15.30. Whilst your’re there you could also catch a show in the planetarium. Under 7’s will love the The Space Safari show, where Ted the Teddy will take them on a journey through the solar system!  It’s on at 11am Sat 7th & Sun 8th March Adults £6.50  Children £4.50 (under 3 FREE)

Leeds Castle, Kent: Children’s Wildlife Walk 7th & 8th  March 11.30am 10-5pm (Adults £24, Children £16.00 for unlimited annual entrance)

Check out the interior of the wonderful Leeds Castle then join the wardens on a wildlife walk where you will use a special ‘i-spy’ card to spot lots of different creatures enjoying their natural habitats in the castle grounds.

It’s lambing season at Kingston Maurwood! Go and see the gorgeous newborn lambs with their mothers plus visit all the other animals in the animal park including alpacas, fluffy rabbits, cows, pigs, chickens and more!

Merseyside Maritime Museum, Liverpool: FREE family Activities 1-4pm no need to book!

This brilliant museum offers a variety of family friendly events each week. On Saturday 7th join the ‘Fun With Felt’ workshop and make your very own creation using real sheeps wool. Join in the fun at Bolton Library to celebrate World Book Day! With story sessions, themed activities plus a visit from Performance Poet, Rappaman! Dress up as your favorite Book character to add to the fun! Suitable for ages 3 – 11.

Washington Wetland Centre, Tyne & Wear: Guide in a Hide +more! Adults £8.91, Child £4.50

On the first Saturday of each month you can join a WWT guide in a hide to learn more about the bird species that can be seen. When you arrive ask which hide the guide is in. Whilst you’re there you can also watch the otters Musa & Mimi being fed and learn about the flock of pink Flamingoes!
