1. The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience, Spinningfields

2. bluedot, Jodrell Bank

18th – 21st July 2019

Camp out under the stars and explore a programme of music, science, arts, technology, culture, food and film. Bluedot’s mission is to entertain and inspire through a full weekend of groundbreaking encounters including DJ sets, comedy, talks, workshops and live experiments. This year you can see the likes of New Order, Hot Chip and Jon Hopkins.

3. LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre, Barton Square

MINILAND®

This is the ultimate indoor playground for LEGO® lovers aged 3-10 years as everything is child sized! Explore LEGO® NINJAGO® City Adventure, MINILAND® and take a spin on the ride, Merlin’s Apprentice. On 3rd July and 7th August, Adult Nights give everyone aged 18 and over the chance to have a night of LEGO® fuelled fun. Find out more here.

4. Caribbean Carnival of Manchester, Alexandra Park

10th – 11th August 2019

The annual carnival that’s been running for over 40 years is returning once again this year. Enjoy the infectious rhythms of song and dance as the carnival works its way through Alexandra Park. Marvel at the stream of floats with DJs, dance crews with carnival queens, and elaborate costumes.

5. RHS Flower Show, Tatton Park

17th – 21st July 2019

Get the gang together and enjoy a range of family-friendly activities at the RHS Flower Show 2019. New to the show this year is the Bug Hub, a dome filled with a host of creepy crawlies waiting to be discovered. Little ones can learn how to make a mini pond and channel their inner Bear Grylls with the Woodland Skills Centre. Schools from the North West of England are returning once again for the RHS Campaign for School Gardening too. Find out more here.

6. The Luna Cinema at Tatton Park

23rd – 25th August

The historic estate of Tatton Park makes for the ultimate setting for cinema under the stars. This summer, the estate will host three nights of classic films with the parkland providing a stunning backdrop. On 23rd August watch A Star Is Born, on 24th enjoy Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, and on the final night, come along to see the smash hit Bohemian Rhapsody.

7. Bolton Food and Drink Festival, Victoria Square

23rd – 26th August 2019

Back for its 14th year and better than ever, clear your calendar for this one! There will be appearances from Michael Caines, The Hairy Bikers, Gregg Wallace and James Martin across the weekend. Brimming with food and drink, arts and crafts, live music and a brand new family zone at Crompton Place this year, the whole family will love this one.

8. Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre

Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is best-known as the home of the world-famous Lovell Telescope -A near 90m high radio telescope that has become an iconic landmark on the Cheshire landscape. Every Thursday between 29th July – 30th August, watch Jodrell’s beekeepers at work in live demonstrations. Meet science and astronomy experts every Tuesday, and celebrate 50 years since the moon landing at a brand new live science show every weekday throughout August. Find out more.

9. SEA LIFE Manchester, intu Trafford Centre

This summer, pirates and mermaids will be taking over this underwater world. On 13th and 14th July between 12pm-3pm and every Saturday in August, you can meet the magical SEA LIFE mermaids too! Say hello to Cammy and Ernie, the giant green sea turtles, as well as the giant Japanese spider crabs, cow nose rays and so many more! Find out more.

10. Manchester Museum

Bring the family here to find an array of interesting treasures and artefacts from the natural world. Highlights of the collections include fossils of prehistoric creatures, the ancient Egyptian exhibition and live amphibians and reptiles. Some of the objects from the collection can be handled. Afterwards, enjoy a coffee whilst exploring the latest ideas in science. Find out more.
