Let’s make a craft to make the most of the summer sun,
Just like this amazing sun catcher that’s really lots of fun!
A milk bottle, gems, glue and ribbon is all you need,
To make this mini-masterpiece for everyone to see!
If you’re looking for ways to keep your little ones crafty and creative, why not get them making their very own suncatchers? This milk bottle version is not only super cute but is a fab way to get them thinking about recycling their household items into new and exciting creations!
Here’s what you need:
Clear Milk Bottle
Ribbon
An Assortment of Gems
PVA Glue
Scissors
First, start by cutting out sections of the milk bottle. How big the sections are will depend on how big you want your sun catchers to be!
Next, cut the sections into shapes. I’ve gone with a love heart, but you can let your imaginations run wild and do whatever you fancy!
Pierce a hole at the top of your shape, which will be where your ribbon feeds through. I’ve used a simple hole punch, so you might need to help extra little ones with this step!
Now start to decorate your sun catcher! I’ve gone for a multi-coloured summer-inspired design to keep our home looking bright and cheerful, but the combinations are endless.
Once the gems have dried completely, thread and tie your ribbon into place through the hole.
And voila! Now all that’s left to do is find a home for your eye-catching creation. Be sure to hang it where it’ll catch lots of lovely sunlight!
What have you been up to? We’d really love to know! Someone else might love it, and really want to go! If you’ve got ideas, suggestions or reviews, you can shout all about it on whatever channel you choose!
