Well, this will certainly persuade you to go!
From The Tiger who came to tea to Les Misérables too,
Head to the theatre, don’t wait for a cue!
We’re thrilled to announce the return of Kids Week! This August, there will be FREE children’s tickets to more than 30 hit West End shows throughout the month. Booking is now open! You can purchase tickets from here.
What is Kids Week?
Kids Week is an annual London theatre initiative run by Society of London Theatre (SOLT). The scheme aims to encourage more young people and their families to experience the magic of live theatre. They are offering a free ticket to a child aged 16 or under accompanied by a paying adult, and half-price tickets for two additional children in the same group; all without booking, postage or transaction fees! Returning in August 2018, it is one of the longest-running and widest-reaching audience development initiatives in the world; since it began in 1998, it has engaged over 1.4 million children and families!
What shows can I see?
It’s a long list with over 30 shows to choose from, so you’re bound to find something that yourself and your little ones will both enjoy! There are still tickets remaining for:
Wicked, We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, 42nd Street, The Tiger Who Came To Tea, Horrible Histories Barmy Britain Part Four, Strictly Ballroom, Thriller – Live, Jim Steinman’s Bat Out Of Hell the Musical, Motown The Musical, Brief Encounter, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Dreamgirls, Kinky Boots, The Play That Goes Wrong, The Importance Of Being Earnest, Kids Week The King And I, The Mousetrap, Knights Of The Rose
What else is there to do?
Alongside the stunning performances, children are given the chance to get involved in a wide range of free events, workshops and activities. Participating shows are offering everything from storytelling and backstage tours to cast meet-and-greets and choreography! For the first time, every Kids Week purchase comes with a free activity sheet of quizzes, puzzles and fascinating theatrical facts. There’s no way they’ll get bored with all of this entertainment on offer! Kids Week ticket holders can also take advantage of a number of ‘Kids Go Free’ deals on dining and hotels.
Who are LimbPower?
This year, Kids Week is partnering with LimbPower, a charity which helps people with amputations and limb impairments make the most of opportunities in the arts and sport. An afternoon of theatre taster workshops will be held at the Lyric Hammersmith on 20 August, for 25 young people with amputations and their siblings.
What have you been up to? We’d really love to know! Someone else might love it, and really want to go! If you’ve got ideas, suggestions or reviews, you can shout all about it on whatever channel you choose!
