Portrait Detectives! Scottish National Portrait Gallery; Edinburgh, 10th January, 2-4pm

Collect a kit and put your detective hat on as you follow clues around the gallery to solve a mystery from many years ago. This is most suited to children aged between 4 and 12, and of course their parents!

Horrible Histories: Blitzed Britains; Imperial War Museum North; Manchester, 9th and 10th January, 10am – 5pm

Get the kids learning about what life was like living in Britain during the war. This fantastic interactive exhibition inspired by the Horrible Histories is sure to be an exciting experience for all and includes over 200 objects, film clips and photos!

Destination Space Show; The World Museum, Liverpool, 9th January, 2pm and 3pm

Come along to this family friendly show for all ages with science demonstrations galore! Find out what it’s like being an astronaut and living in space, and how on earth you get back to…well, earth!
