Fantastically Festive Ice Rinks 2020!

Wrap up warm and hit the ice,
At these fantastically festive rinks that are really very nice!
From Cornwall, Surrey and Warwick Castle too,
We have handpicked some of our favourites for you!

Sadly due to the restrictions this year many of the outdoor skating rinks that we usually feature are closed- however, there are still a few open and they have worked incredibly hard to ensure that safety guidelines are met whilst still providing a true ‘winter wonderland’ experience!

❄️Eden Project, Cornwall❄️

Open until 21st February 2021

Cornwall’s only indoor ice rink is back and it is glistening more than ever! Open until 23rd February 2020, the whole family can come along for ice skating, ice play, toddler sessions and lessons too! Plus, for those family members who aren’t so savvy on the ice but don’t want to miss out on the fun family festive outing then there is a cosy seating area when you can snuggle up with a hot chocolate and yummy food whilst watching the skaters glide by! ❄️Hampton Course Palace, Surrey❄️

Open until 17th January 2021

Nestled in the gardens on Henry VIII’s historic home is the stunning open-air ice rink! Skaters are in for a festive treat, with the promise of spectacular views, festive music and an array of delicious refreshments for post skate relaxation or for those who wish to sit back and watch as loved ones glide around the rink! Plus, children can rent skating aid. Find out more here. 

❄️Queens House, Greenwich❄️

Open until 24th January 2021

Located within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the  grounds of Royal Museums Greenwich, the Queen’s House Ice Rink is a magically festive place to skate. You will see unbeatable views of the River Thames and Greenwich Royal Park as you glide your way around the rink. Find out more here. 

❄️Coventry Glides, Coventry Cathedral❄️

Open until 10th January 2021

Set in the iconic Coventry Cathedral Ruins this rink is a true winter wonderland and one of the most magical festive ice-skating rinks in the UK. Coventry Glides is open under Tier 3 Covid-19 restrictions, in line with national regulations. This  means that, up until the possible revision of the Tier system on 16 December, the event will now only admit audiences from Coventry, Warwickshire, and Solihull. ❄️Warwick Castle❄️

Open until 10th January 2021

With the castle ramparts as its back drop this open air ice rink is a perfect way to get in the festive spirit. Want to do more than ice skate? You can also enjoy the light trail in the castle grounds and grab a treat at the Christmas market!
