Camp Bestival, Lulworth Estate, Dorset

26th – 29th July

Camp Bestival Sets Sail for its tenth year at Lulworth Castle. Your little mermaids and pirates are sure to love this year’s nautical theme, complete with an underwater carnival night parade. Bluedot Festival, Jodrell Bank, Cheshire

19th – 22nd July

For an out of this world experience head to Bluedot, the festival of music, science, arts, culture and the exploration of space set against the backdrop of the iconic Lovell Telescope. Head to the Star Field, packed with scientific displays, games, experiments and workshops galore. With Manchester Metropolitan University and the Games Research Network teaming up to host an educational racing car game, The Making Rooms and their popular T-Shirt making sessions, the chance to create your own floating garden challenge with Practical Action, Light Saber lessons and many more activities, all priced between £3 – £6 per session, there’s plenty of things to keep budding young scientists entertained. There is also a Blue Planet show on Thursday night with the Halle Orchestra which is bound to be amazing. Latitude Festival, Henham Park, Suffolk

12th – 15th July

Winner of Best Major Festival 2017, Latitude doesn’t disappoint. Headliners this year include Solange, alt-j and The Killers. There is a kids area and also an inbetweeners area for those who are aged 12+. Whether they have a go at the wildlife survival skills, assault course, or go for a swim in the lake, kids of all ages will have a blast! Find out more here.

Shambala Festival, Northampton, Northamptonshire

Playtopia, the kid’s area is a jewel in Shambala’s crown. Sandpits, craft workshops, and other activities keep them busy during the day, and they can finish with a cup of cocoa and a bedtime story in the Family Yurt! From funk to soul, disco to reggae and drum & bass to jazz, there’s music for everyone. Larmer Tree Festival, Salisbury, Wiltshire

19th – 22nd July

After taking a year off in 2017, Larmer Tree Festival is back for its 27th year. It is the quintessential summer party. Intimate, eccentric, and independent, they offer a unique party experience, encouraging a genuine festival community. They have also been awarded the UK Festival Awards for ‘Best Family Festival’ and ‘Best Toilets’ by festival-goers for the coolest, cleanest loos – in case that’s something you’re worried about! The Big Feastival, Alex James’ Farm, The Cotswolds

24th – 26th August

Alex James of Blur offers his farm each year for a summer festival for all the family, combining top-class food with live music from your favourite bands. There will be special appearances from the Gruffalo, Paddington, and Peppa and George this year. For the adults, music from Tom Odell, Paloma Faith and more will be accompanied by appearances from celebrity chefs including Raymond Blanc, Marco Pierre White, and Gizzi Erskine. Enchanted Festival, Horsham, Sussex

Enchanted Festival runs from 4pm- midnight over 3 days. Kendal Calling, Cumbria

26th – 29th July

An award-winning, innovative, independent festival based in the Lake District, it features contemporary music and art alongside traditional rural entertainment. Green Man Festival, Brecon Beacons, Wales

16th – 19th August

This independent music and arts festival celebrated its 15th year in 2017 and this year doesn’t look to be any less exciting!
