There’s something extra special about a home made card. This year my little ones and I have made some really easy ones, using some coloured card and paints (squeezed on to a sponge to keep things a bit more controlled!). I did have grand visions of beautifully fingerprinted baubles on the trees but it seems my little ones had other ideas! Nevertheless everyone loves receiving these and the kids love making them: win win! Would love to see the cards you have made!
You need:
- Green card (to create Christmas tree shape from)
- Other coloured card of your choice (for backing)
- Red, yellow, blue and orange paint
- A pack of star stickers (optional as you can always draw a star)
- Glitter (we didn’t use it but in hindsight it would look great!)
- A sponge
- Pritt Stick
To make:
- Fold the piece of card that’s going to be your backing in half
- Cut a triangle / Christmas tree shape out of the green card
- Stick this green shape to the front of your backing card
- Leave to dry for ten minutes
- Pop an apron on the kids
- Put some of each coloured paint onto the sponge
- Get the kids to dab their fingers on the sponge then decorate their tree with the different colours
- If you’re using glitter then sprinkle it on while the paint is still wet
- Once dry stick a star sticker or draw one on to the top of the tree
