Port Lympne Reserve

📍Kent

Port Lympne’s incredible safari bus is an un-missable experience, so if you want to avoid the crowds we’d recommencement visiting during the winter time!

You can really take your time doing around the animal habitats, and spend time getting right up close to your favourite animals. This experience can last a couple of hours if you go at your own pace, plus plenty of the animals will still be out and about!

The same goes for the walking safari, where you’ll see red pandas, rhinos, apes, and so many more with the added benefit of no crowds, as well as the roar-some dinosaur forest walk-through experience!

Kew Gardens

Most would assume the best time to see an array of beautiful flowers would be during the spring, but not at Kew Gardens! Their annual orchid festival runs from 1st February – 2nd March, and it’s one of our favourite times to visit.

Explore the vibrant biodiversity of Peru with a mesmerizing floral display of plants and animals. The Prince of Wales Conservatory will celebrate the beauty of Peru in this iconic event that transforms the glasshouse into a rich display of orchids that awakens the senses.

*Please note – Orchids is included with admission, however you must book a free timeslot via the Kew Gardens website once your Kew Gardens Day Admission tickets are confirmed. Book here.

Chessington World of Adventures

📍London

Exclusive family ticket

Unlike many other theme parks here in the UK, Chessington World of Adventures does not close over the winter season. Instead, they close the rides that are open and throw a Zootastic event!

This is the perfect time to visit with pre-schoolers as many of Chessington’s rides are suited to older kids (although there are a few great rides for little ones!), plus the park will be much quieter so you can beat the queues.

Chessington Zoo and SEA LIFE are home to 100’s of animals from giraffes to tigers, and you can meet them all on a wintery visit during their Zootastic event which runs on selected dates from 1st January – 9th March.
