These farms offer fun-packed days out for families. You don’t need to ‘muck out’ these animals, but you can ‘muck in’ with the cuddling and feeding.

Farmer Palmers, Dorset


If you are looking for a great fun-filled day out with younger children, you can’t go wrong with Farmer Palmer’s. There are lots of animals for children to cuddle and feed, (we love the guinea pigs!), live milking demonstration and fab indoor and outdoor play areas. There’s a nice picnic are, but the food in the restaurant is yummy!

Hackney City Farm, London


This small city farm has a bunch of farmyard animals for you to meet, plus it’s a great value day out as there’s no admission fee! Once you have finished seeing all the happy animals you can even have a go at painting some ceramics in the pottery. There’s a café serving Italian style food for lunch or you can have a picnic in the farm gardens.

Greenlands Farm Village, Lancashire


There’s so much to see at Greenlands Farm Village! In the open farm you will have the chance to get hands-on with a variety of animals from snakes to goats. The kids can also ride a donkey, play in the straw barn and race around on go-karts. There’s also an artisan village for you to browse and a café where you can relax and enjoy good food.

Ash End House Children’s Farm, Tamworth


This small family run farm offers a fun day out. Meet and pet a range of animals such as sheep, goats and rabbits. A programme of activities runs  throughout the day including holding chicks, ducklings, egg hunting and riding Shetland ponies.

Children’s Farm Park, Harlech, Wales

This friendly farm is located by Cardigan Bay and has stunning views over Snowdonia National Park. Around the farm you’ll find Floss the donkey, pigs, ducks, calves and many more cute farmyard animals. In the spring you can bottle feed lambs and all year you can pick up some animal food to feed the other animals. Additional activities on the farm include the indoor sandpit, crazy golf and the junior tractors.
